Boycott China- Lead in Lipstick among countless other things

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/5207412.html

The lead has apparently also been linked to miscarriages... that really hits hard for some people.

We really need to pay attention and boycot anything that might have Chinese ingredients. Between the lead in the bibs, toys, clothing, formaldehyde in "onesies" and poisoned food, there is no denying that this is all out intentional war against our population.

My toddler just had to have a lead test over a recalled toy that she'd chewed on!

First, kids dying from lead in toys. Now, they find high levels of lead in lipsticks. What's next - lead in food? Are women going to start dying now too from using lipstick too much?

Freaky!

There's a detailed report about it at http://www.myproductalert.com/lead-in-lipsticks.html

I remember reading a study in which violent prisoners tested abnormally high for lead. It causes behavioral problems.

I remember reading that children exposed to lead are more likely to suffer dyslexia and learning disabilities in general. What about autism? Everyone is blaming the vaccines but what about the fact that lead in lipstick, something many pregnant women wear, is NOT illegal in the United States? According to the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, the FDA regulates the lead in certain colorants, but does not test finished cosmetics for ANY hazardous materials whatsoever. This is truly a case of "Don't look; don't tell", if I ever heard one.

We have a population wherein ADD and ADHD is exploding, autism is so rampant that the CDC secured over $300 million to look for the culprit, and yet I read that while Germany, Australia and others have outlawed lead since the 1920s, here we are chugging along like we're living in 1776!

The duplicity is astounding: Lead is forbidden in gasoline and paint, but here we are in an age where increasingly product ingredients, if not the products themselves, are coming from China and there's no mechanism in place by which to test them. We know that the toys were supposed to be monitored and look how many slipped through when the toy makers and the Federal agencies were supposed to have a watchful eye on these matters. How much worse might it be for cosmetics?

If the Obama administration is about change at all, the newly appointed members of the FDA will prove their independence from industry by clamping down on this practice once and for all. It can't hurt our kids and might help explain a lot of disturbing trends these days. After all, women were not routinely in the workforce generations ago. So that meant that many of them were at home where lipstick was optional. Today, so many more women wear cosmetics around the clock because so many more are working outside the home. It stands to reason that exposure levels are increasing, and to turn a blind eye to this problem in the event it is even 1/10th responsible for the proliferation of childhood behavioral and learning disabilities is criminal. In fact, I'd go a step further and call it what it is: Domestic terrorism against women and children. So many of us are rightly concerned that animals aren't being exposed to cruelty in pursuit of beauty products. When are we going to stop putting everyone and everything else first and start asking what is safe for ourselves and our children?
