Another letter sent in- I hope people continue waking up! I sent this in the WND, and am hoping it will get readers thinking!
Americans,
We see it at the lower levels of government, and at the highest- the trampling of our rights. Herb in Clearwater is just one of millions of Americans who is fighting to lift the boot of the oppressors from underneath so he can just live his life without unlawful government interference with his rights! Obama has raised the stakes, appointing Chas Freeman, Former U.S. Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, lobyist, and defender of the Chinese actions in Tiananmen.
"the truly unforgivable mistake of the Chinese authorities was the failure to intervene on a timely basis to nip the demonstrations in the bud, rather than -- as would have been both wise and efficacious -- to intervene with force when all other measures had failed to restore domestic tranquility to Beijing and other major urban centers in China."
According to this new appointee, the unforgivable mistake was not using deadly force to kill somewhere between 241 and 2,600 protestors in crack-downs, but rather not squashing the demonstrations earlier!
America, please wake up to what is being done to you before it is too late!
We have seen tax-cheats and lobyists appointed after he promised "hope and change" and we have only grumbled about it. Appointing this man to be in charge of any Intelligence organization in the United States of America is more of the same abuse! A man in Florida faces fines for displaying the Constitution. What does our great nation face as a whole? This man thought the Chinese were too soft for allowing a protest to happen in the first place! Write angry and bitter letters such as mine! Show your contempt for the abuses your so-called representatives heap upon you. Rally, citizens, while you still have the right- before too many people like this are given control over your lives!

His story really struck a chord with me, and I really wanted to put corrupt politicians in their place. I'm sick of rights continuosly getting trampled on and nobody speaking up...so I wrote an angry letter. I had no idea I'd get top-notch media exposure over it! Letter follows:
ALCON,
Greetings from Iraq. As a Florida native, and veteran who took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic, I find it insulting that you would limit Herb Quintero's free speech with regards to the beautiful mural he had painted to spruce up his building. Also insulting are your fines and subsequent threats to fine the man for displaying the Constitution that guarantees his protection from this very sort of tyranny. I learned of his plight from reading the story on

You have no right to override the Constitution and the principals for which so many men and women have fought and died to uphold. YOU are in violation of the supreme law of the land, which supersedes some trivial contrary (and therefore illegal) code, and should immediately withdraw your fines and retract your flawed and invalid laws. As government representatives, you have a solemn duty to protect the people you are entrusted to represent, not oppress them. By enacting and then selectively enforcing such oppressive laws that violate the Constitution, you spit in the face of every veteran who has ever served to uphold the Constitution! Yes, I am this worked up over a painting of some fish; the rights in the Constitution are not something that should even be lightly infringed and tolerated! The founding fathers must be rolling in their graves over the affront to freedom you have committed in your persecution of this man who is merely attempting to live an American Dream by exercising his right to free speech- an attempt, it must be noted, that would increase commerce- which in turn would bring more tax dollars to the city should he succeed in his endeavors!
As a fellow American, who dearly values his rights and freedoms, I sincerely urge on you to cease and desist with your harassment of Herb Quintero; it would save the city money in the long run, and save yourselves further embarrassment and public outrage. Furthermore, I cannot imagine citizens willingly re-electing officials who would trod so heavily upon their fundamental and inalienable rights, so I urge you to refund this man's money and publicly declare your apology to him, and the citizens, at once.

Letter to Senators- First Amendment
The following is my open letter to senators with regards to the new "hate crime" amendment to the defense budget. Please help preserve your freedom of speech before it becomes too late and gag orders are given to all citizens and news writers, as was recently done in Europe. Imagine a country in which people like Mr. Farah at www.worldnetdaily.com are sent to jail for trying to spread the truth. Go to www.senate.gov In the top right corner is a menu to get your senator's contact info. Read and use the below letter either whole or as a template for getting your own message across. It takes less than a minute to fight for your freedom because others have already done the hard part of dying for it. If we do not band together and speak out against abuse of the Constitution now, how many Americans will have to fight for ground already bought by blood? God Bless America!

Whereas any such proposed amendment put forth not only defies the Constitution, but also threatens to corrupt defense legislation key to the protection of the United States of America.
I hereby call for the immediate striking of said aforementioned "Hate Crimes" amendment and the immediate impeachment of all elected officials supporting any limits to the Bill of Rights as outlined by the founders of this nation.
I hereby call for clear, concise legislation without hidden deceitful riders. Let every bill stand on its own merit.
Countless veterans have sworn an oath to defend the Constitution, and while terms of service may expire, that sacred oath does not. We may not agree with everything a person says in the exercise of their right to freedom of speech, but make no mistake, as Americans we will defend to the death their right to say it. The ghosts of our brothers and sisters in arms laid to rest in Arlington and cemeteries around the globe attest to our willingness to defend freedom.
Several states have already illegally violated the Constitutional rights of their citizens, to constrain those officers of the law to become the captors of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by the hands of those over them.
